Poem "feather"

The flapping of wings
outside my window
makes me momentarily look up from my book

A black bird flashes by my eyes
as it rises ever higher in the endless sky

It strikes me
that the words I am reading so fondly
are written by

a broken piece of freedom
carved to nonrecognition
dipped in liquid,
darker than blood
to finally form shapes,
that transform before my eyes,
to the words I so adore

*

Cherish the words you are given
no matter how insignificant
you think they are

for they might
carry the weight
of someones

sacrifice

  1. WOW reading this you are extremely talented I am amazed I read this one twice i'm trying to contemplate on what it means lol so I came to the conclusion that maybe it's of a person reading and what he/she is reading comes to life in his or her mind (like you know when some people read a book and have such a powerful imagination I can go deep into so I thought for this poem the person was so into his/her story the pages in front of them was coming to life and reading the last bit of the poem makes me really think maybe the author of the story that the person is reading has been broken abused and hurt in there life and writes In there story for them to escape and the person who is reading there story really thinks about what they are reading,,,,, and the last thing that you wrote
"Cherish the words you are given
    no matter how insignificant
    you think they are

    for they might
    carry the weight
    of someones

    sacrifice"

I am still trying to work out what it means maybe tameaut you can tell me what you mean and how you come up with such amazing creativity i was wondering if maybe you can give me permission to copy and paste your poems on my microsoft word so I can read them again in the future I will only do it if you give me permission but I have saved this in my book marks already xxxx

  2. And also thanks for explaining in your older posts from 2010 what a pillow book means (because I won't lie I didn't know what it was I thought it was like a book you read in bed or something like that lol) thanks to you I know and now have discovered an interesting lady

  3. Well, the interest about poems is that anyone can interpret them as they please, so the idea you get in your head when you read my poem is always a personal thing.

hmm, I really can't tell you how I come up with these things - they sort of just pop up in my head from everything I observe around me or things that happen.

The last part of my poem I wrote while thinking of all people who have died for books and literature throughout history and all the writers who through life share their experiences by writing. Not to mention all the poor birds who have been plucked for hundreds of years to make plume pens for writing.
I guess it is all a mix trying to explain (in my head it makes sense, but saying it out loud makes me sound sort of insane ;) )

You are welcome to copy/paste if you like, I know it can be easier to read in word, just credit me and that is fine.

    Thanks again for your praise!

  4. no problem I am not posting it anywhere anyway just copy and pasting it on my microsoft word only for my self so I can go back on it in case in the future you decide to delete it or any thing I would only post it on something else like deviantart or someone elses blogpost or if I had a blog If I got your permisson but i only want to save of my microsoft word so don't worry,,,,,, I understand what you mean by explaining i'm like that as well if I was talking to someone about certain things I find interesting for example when i said about I love thought provoking movies that make you think about life and the whole dream world thing if i was talking to my friends or to any one I would really find it hard to explain why I like thos things or what i'm on about but when i'm on the internet and commenting on peoples blogpost about my thoughts I can just explain far more easier especially if i'm into what i'm saying and know how to write it it just comes out pretty much like now as i'm writing this,,, That,s one of the reason why I love poems I mean you can interpret any way you like even if some poems are crazy but you can interpret anyway you like I was reading your pillow book poems and was thinking wow this is interesting I din't know what a pillow book was and when you said what it was I went back to the pillow book poems and sort of understood more like I was having a bit of an insider into your life even though I don't know you personally xxxx

  5. Yes, I like thought provoking movies too, for they make you understand more about yourself and the world.

You did good research on my insides by going back to the pillowbook entries after knowing what it was. I mostly put out here what is directly in my mind so peopel who read my writings probably know more about me on the inside than my real life friends. ;)

  6. YH (my mum told me something a while ago)when I was talking to this girl on my msn we got talking (of course you have to be careful on those things) we have been chatting for quite a while I think it was about a month then she told me some stuff in her family and she told me she never told her friends I thought to myself why would you tell me this stuff but not your friends who you know personally so I asked my mum and she told me sometimes when you talk to a stranger you can tell them more things than you can to people you know personally (of course I believe it all depends) because when I talk to people like for example I've commented alot on your stuff even though I don't know you and respecting your work I feel like I can trust it's hard to explain but sometimes if i've talked to them for a while you I can sort off trust but not be too trusting sort of like I can sense whether the person behind the keyboard is a good person or not but it's very important not to be too trusting in my opinion any way

  7. I want to say thank you for your poems I won't lie I used to HATE THEM because when I was in my primary school (sort of like a junior school) we used to have to write poems and the teachers would be like WRITE A POEM WITH RHYMING WORDS for me it was not easy but as I got older I realized they don't have to be rhyming words because I've realized that peoms can be emotional and from the mind and heart

    1. Well I am extremely happy to be able to make someone like poetry by reading my poetry. I also don't like poems that rhyme..it sounds horrible...

  8. Since you like poems so much and writing I really suggest listening to broken iris there a music band they don't speak poetically but there lyrics are poetical in my opinion really beautiful not like any other band I've heard they only have like 14 songs I really wish they had more recognition but then again I think it's better if they didn't I mean the media can change you and make you different so I think it's better they stay like this BUT I REALLY HOPE THEY MAKE MORE SONGS

    1. Again, thanks for the tip. I absolutely love "The Duelist", amazingly beautiful movie, but I really don't like Ha Ji Won. I think she always overplays. However Kang Dong Won is superb.

  11. Beautiful poem Ta-Meaut, as usual, I loved it! The bird that is linked to the plume pen creating words and carrying the weight of people. Beautifully said, I was especially overwhelmed by the magnificent rythm of this poem and, awed at each ending of line, I could barely catch a breath. I will cherish the words that you give me, thank you.

@maria: thanks for the music tips, Broken Iris seems to be a really neat band, songs such as "Broken Inside" or "The Scar" have an epic spirit that remind me somewhat of Linkin Park!

    1. Well, thank you knerrir for reading. I know you specially appreciate my writings referring to literature, so this would have been your cup of tea. :D

  12. knerrir@ thank you yhh I agree about linkin park but I find that broken irises music is more poetic and linkin parks music more emotional but thus this is just my opinion hehe I love and adore both bands broken iris should have more recognition but I think in somewhat way it's better like this because if they were known more then they may change there music but I do hope one day they will have more songs out they only have 14 (I think) but they are doing very well
