Poem "John Bauer Forests of my Youth"

You have the most beautiful eyes I know.
Deep browns mixing with fern greens and hints of gold glimmering.

Everytime I look into them I get curiously lost.

I find myself alone, wandering around the soft moss covered ground. Majestic firs all around me, filtering the light until an eerie feeling of belonging fills me.

You make me loose my way, only to give me a home.

In your love.

  1. How come each time you write a poem I am moved to the bones and shivering at the thought, you touch a side of my soul? Eyes are one of the most beautiful parts of someone as they reflect so many things... I have lost myself many times into my beloved's eyes, and emerged on a Turner high mountain plateau that I know so well. Going back to your roots to better ground yourself in love for the person in front of you. Again this is a beautiful prose poem, so rich, so dreamy.

    1. Thank you so much for your lavish praise! I am honoured to know that I can have this effect on you by my writing ;)

  2. And I love the play on words for "loose my way" and "lose my way", as if the grip on reality is irretrievably loosened... The French philosopher Bachelard would have found himself just at home in this description!
