I know this is crazy and I know religion is very touchy subject but somehow this reminds me a little of adam and eve (I am an agnostic but yh lol) but also I feel this is a definition to children being prey to A hungry snake I hope I wasn't being rude by saying about this reminds me a little of adam and eve because religion is a very touchy subject especially on the internet so I apologize just in case I have offended but like you said poems are interpret how we like which (in my opinion) is the beauty of them hehe
although I think this poem can be a definition to the world itself like how a child or baby knows nothing of the world to them at that age the world is a huge gigantic place and mysterious and because there only young and like to explore the world but they have know idea how truly cruel and evil the world is until they get older and there innocence of nothing has gone I listened to this very interesting song by evanescence called feild of innocence link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMzKKREHQgA but it really made me think about what I know now and what I didn't know (not saying I know everything there is sooooooooo much I don't know) but it made me really think how innocent children are and when they get older there not so much really I Think children no more than adults but I also believe they do need to be protected alot more since there so innocent but sometimes adults can be far more childish than children (this of course comes all from my own opinion)
I am not offended by religious subjects at all so don't worry!
I think there is a difference between childish and innocent, and I think that innocence is something we should cherish while childish behaviour belongs with immature kids. and yes, I have also seen lots of childish behaviour from adults.
THANK GOODNESS I haven't offended,,,,, I agree what I mean't about childish behaviour from adults is like for example hitler (not just him) but all these wars that happened in the past that were cause by different people and religious aspects I think it is childish and I wonder when adults say to children stop being childish I think they may not be quite as childish as you think lol not all adults but some do think they know better than children because they of course are older but I agree very much about the difference between innocence and maturity
