This beautiful video makes me unafraid of dying...

  1. Oh Yeo Woon, so many deep and unshakeable relationships shown the one after the other here. Althought not all, I know most of them. May I ask which one(s) is/are your favourite and why? I should have checked for any update on your blog sooner... Yes I was a secret fan of your works until now. :D I came out eventually. And this recent update is the cause. Thank you for giving me the chamce. :D

    1. Well, Hello there Xenia! It is always great to hear from fans even though I am more than sporadic in posting.
To answer your question, I think there is no couple that I find more inspiration from than the famous Sungkyunkwan Yong Ha/Jae Shin. Their personal chemistry is sizzling to say the least. I never grow tired of them. They are so good together and for each other. All that undercurrents, and mix it with the lovely Joseon era silks and gruffy bandits, makes it picture perfect. I think that time period's extreme homophobia also adds to the taboo, increasing the tension level to painfully sexy. Ah, so may ideas, so little time.
      How about you, my friend?
...and thank you for being my fan!

    2. I am glad to hear more of you no matter how much time has passed!
Thank you for being analytical to your answer, it really shows how much you love these two dorks. I have watched SKKS and unfortunately as much as I expected to love the BL element, I just liked it eventually. While I do agree with you on the interest of the historical setting which makes it very spicy and that their scenes were quite sexual, the chemistry between them was also very good, I can't seem to feel the depth of their relationship so much. Yes there are some scenes here and there which show it, but I wished for more. I guess it's because the Drama is a Romcom, so this kind of aspect isn't shown as much. These kind of Dramas are light and mostly to make your mood, I understand it. Maybe I am just too ungrateful and should say that exactly because it is a Romcom, the amount of the "serious" moments is more than enough. Or maybe it's my general dislike for this genre. I am trying to justify myself poorly... Anyway, nevertheless I found SKKS to be interesting solely because of these two and their relationship, as well as their characters and actors, obviously. I couldn't care less about Sun Joon and Yoon Hee, honestly (I'm sorry PYC, but your character doesn't do much to me.) I apologise if I sound harsh towards the Drama.
As for me, you might have actually guessed it, but it's another historical couple which has ruined me since I completed it about a year ago (because I was too stupid and dropped it at the 5th episode in 2012...) It's no other than Dong Soo and Yeo Woon. Every single thing that you said about Yong Ha and Jae Shin applies for Dong Soo and Yeo Woon to me. They lean more to a romantic/sappy (I don't use it in a negative way) relationship rather than sexual (although they also have their amount of sexual tension scenes and their relationship screams for it), but it doesn't really lack anything because of it (okay, I may be kidding my self a bit...) The most important for me is Dong Soo's blind trust in Yeo Woon and Yeo Woon's selflessness towards him. It is mindblowing and devastating at the same time how they adore each other which is expressed by every stare, touch and tone of their voices. I have invested so much in them that I can't get over them or simply stop thinking about them. I can't seem to be able to appreciate any other couple as much. Or merely much. Unfortunately of fortunately. I feel like I don't describe these two as much as I would like, I am sorry. What do you think about them? I didn't imagine you would refer to me as "your friend", but, you know, it's sweet and brings out comfort. So thank you and thank YOU for creating great works and for bearing with this essay.
